3 C’s Model for Change

Neurocoaching blends traditional coaching techniques with neuroscience principles to enable deeper and more lasting change. The Hey Safe Space change model centers on leveraging social and cognitive neuroscience principles to increase new learning neural pathways, establish balanced and focused action for change, and create new habits and partners of thinking for sustained resilience and goal achievement. 
Each coaching engagement is highly unique and we all require individualized support, skills, and behaviors to reach our goals. The Hey Safe Space change model listed below is representative and may or may not mirror the neurocoaching techniques we will leverage for your specific goals and needs. 

Brain-Based Goal Setting

that supports high levels of clarity on the emotions, motivations, and mechanics of your goals.

with the CREATE Model* to overcome negative or limiting beliefs

to challenge and change unfocused or unhelpful thought patterns. 

Clarification 

This initial stage of the coaching process centers on establishing clarity on your goals, a deep understanding of your current challenges, and discerning what gaps are faced in reaching those goals. During this phase, we will leverage: 

Once your goals are clearly defined, challenges are uncovered, and a new approach to thinking about those challenges is established, we will then take action and transition to the second phase of the Hey Safe Space change model - Cultivation . 

Cultivation 

The second phase is where we will cultivate the actions, mindset, and behaviors needed to successfully navigate change, reach your goals, and establish the sustained behaviors needed for resilience and continued growth. Specifically, we will leverage:

Microsteps

that generate action and build momentum toward reaching your goals with confidence, awareness, and measurable success. 

Habit Loop Awareness

 to form new habits by honing in on the cue, routine, and reward in a habit loop, supporting our basal ganglia’s innate ability to recognize and form new routine habits and thought processes. 

Neuroplasticity Practices 

that support the daily practice of new habits and new patterns of thinking that generate a more productive and balanced mindset toward change.

Growth Mindset Activation

to generate excitement for learning and build more organic resilience in times of transition, transformation, and change. 
The Cultivation stage will culminate in actions taken, behaviors established, and habits formed that are critical for your goal achievement and change management blueprint. The Cultivation phase transitions naturally to the third and final stage - Cognition. 

Cognition 

Cognition is the mental action of gaining knowledge and understanding through our experiences, senses, and thoughts. This is a crucial phase in nuerocoaching for lasting change as it cements our new ways of thinking, habits, and behaviors to support a deeper level of resilience and clarity. During this phase, we will leverage: 

Positive State Anchoring

that trains the brain to access positive thoughts more quickly than we otherwise would. This process supports and reinforces the Growth Mindset Activation and Habit Loop Awareness established in the Cultivation phase. 

Temporal Reframing

 to support our longer term thinking and reward over short term gains. 

Progress Mapping and Action Triggers

that measure the progress made in goal achievement and behavior formation while identifying and activating the energy-boosting triggers that keep us focused and motivated to take action.
